About
I build starters for kids and decent boards for older skaters who want a good deal on a solid rig. I don’t carry name brand gear because I don’t have a storefront but I only stock solid components (I’ve skate tested everything): American-made 7-ply decks built from 100% Canadian Maple, nice light trucks, cruiser wheels or park wheels, great bearings (from the same factory and built to the same specs as those others you pay more for), plus hardware, bushings & grip tape. Everything you need. You can build it yourself or I can build it for you. Free delivery in Carrboro & Chapel Hill. Shipping available for most items.
I started skateboarding when I was nine. Been skating on and off for the last couple of decades, though, admittedly, it has taken a back seat to some of my other pursuits and obligations. My oldest got a scooter for his 3rd birthday and before long he was zooming up and down the street. I dug out my board and would join him to bomb the hill near our house and just cruise around. When he turned 6, he said he was ready to skateboard. Being, well, a dad, I wasn’t about to drop pro-board cash on a 6 year old, and I wasn’t impressed with the cheap completes at Walmart or online. They all had tiny hard wheels which would easily get hung up on streets in Carrboro and send my kid flying face first into the asphalt. So I sourced some decent components and we built him a solid rig. He took to it right away, and now his friends and his younger brother want their own boards.
Thing is, there is no skate shop in Chapel Hill. So, here we are.
